About me & StrehDog
Hello, I'm Dominik – the mind behind StrehDog in Augsburg.
My goal as a dog trainer is to support you in better understanding your dog's body language and mastering everyday life as a team. Every human-dog team is different, which is why I work without rigid, one-size-fits-all methods, focusing instead on practical, everyday, and individual approaches.

My dogs: Lui, Theo & Evje
A very special part of my journey belongs to my male dog Lui, who passed away in 2025. He accompanied me throughout my entire training as a dog trainer and was my loyal partner in practice. Together, we completed the dog license in May 2018 and later successfully passed the demanding examination as a mantrailer (person tracking dog) twice. Lui deeply shaped my understanding of dogs and remains the foundation of my work.
Today, two completely different characters enrich my everyday life:
-
Theo: A spirited Podenco mix who had already had five previous owners at just one year old. Working with him requires patience, trust, and a clear structure for a dog that previously had no stable foundation.
-
Evje: Our Artland Wolf Poodle (a mix of Irish Wolfhound and Poodle), who came to us in 2022. He works with enthusiasm in mantrailing, sled dog sports, tracking work, and everything else that is fun.
Theo and Evje are like black and white. Anyone who imagines what it's like to walk both at the same time or to switch directly from one trail to the next knows: rapid adaptation is required here every second. It is precisely this flexibility and the fine sense for different dog types that flow into my training every day.

Sled dog sports
A key focus of my work is in sled dog sports (Canicross, Bikejoring, Dogscooter). I completed my training in this field with StrongDog Training (Annick Busl), under the co-direction of Tanja Jäger (World and European Champion, Trainer). As a result, sound knowledge of suitable equipment, ergonomics, health, and the correct development of motivation is incorporated into my training.
Career, Education and Lecturers
Good training is based on sound knowledge. In addition to my certifications, constant exchange and looking beyond the horizon with other dog trainers and colleagues is extremely important to me. Only through this regular, professional exchange can one remain flexible in mind and continue to develop.
